Cardiff Half Marathon organiser announces new fundraising partner
The organiser of the Cardiff Half Marathon has announced that the digital platform Enthuse will be the official fundraising platform for its full portfolio of events from next year.
Run 4 Wales will partner Enthuse for major races including the Principality Cardiff Half Marathon – the UK’s second-largest half marathon and the leading mass-participation event in Wales.
R4W’s events also include the Brecon Carreg CDF 10K, the ABP Newport Wales Marathon, the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay 10K and the Dell Technologies Management Challenge.
The organisation has partnerships with more than 90 charities and generates more than £4m annually across its portfolio.
R4W’s previous fundraising platform was JustGiving, which it had partnered with since December 2016.
Its partnership with Enthuse will launch in 2025 for an initial period of three years. It will offer charities and their participants fundraising pages that are co-branded to their cause and R4W events, and will link to the official event platform to show the collective event fundraising total.
The pages will be fully integrated with event registration to ensure that all participants have a fundraising page automatically created.
Enthuse said this automatic system was “intended to make fundraising synonymous with participation by making it easier for those involved to set up a page and start collecting donations right away”.
The fundraising platform already supports the full portfolio of London Marathon Events and Great Run Events, including the TCS London Marathon, AJ Bell Great North Run, Brighton Marathon and Bath Half.
Matt Newman, chief executive of R4W, said: “Our events raise several million for charity each year and provide a platform that allows people to hit their goals – whether that’s in fitness or fundraising.
“This new collaboration will ensure we’re offering the best service for our charities, participants and their donors, allowing for a seamless fundraising journey.”
Chester Mojay-Sinclare, founder and chief executive of Enthuse, said: “Run 4 Wales has a fantastic series of events and we’re incredibly proud to be trusted with powering charity fundraising across their entire portfolio.
“Like Run 4 Wales, we believe in the social good that comes from mass-participation events like these. Our goal is to make sure that charities have a fundraising platform that puts their brand front and centre, while also being easy to use for their fundraisers.”
