Emergency charity changes its name

Wiltshire Air Ambulance has changed its name to Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance and rebranded to better reflect the work it carries out in both areas, the charity has said.

The charity said its new look and rebranded title make it more accessible for supporters and presents a “better synergy” with local businesses.

The design agency Rednine produced the new logo which includes the text “Wiltshire + Bath Air Ambulance” along with a new yellow circular avatar with a central ‘H’ surrounded by a white heart.

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance also worked with local companies Writing+Thinking, Ralph Allen Press and Digital Wonderlab on the rebrand.

The charity also has a new support line of ‘going above + beyond’ which it said came from direct feedback given by supporters during the rebranding process.

It is a nod to our helicopter, which goes above and beyond in the skies over Wiltshire and Bath, but also references the enhanced critical care expertise provided by the aircrew,” the charity said.

“To comply with accessibility requirements, the charity has also adopted a darker green, whilst still retaining its historic and much-cherished colours.

“This is how the changes have been reflected on the helicopter and for the critical care cars used by the clinical crew.”

The charity declined to reveal the cost of the rebrand but all funds towards it came from profit from investment and would not affect its clinical output.

David Philpott, chief executive of Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, said nothing would change clinically following the rebrand.

Simply put, we now have a name that truly tells our story,” Philpott said.

“Our helicopter can fly to Bath’s city centre and the surrounding villages in just four minutes and over the last two years, Bath has been our second most attended area.

“Since moving to our airbase in 2018, the charity has responded to more missions in the city of Bath than any other critical care resource."
