Care charity chief to step down

The chief executive of a care charity is stepping down to take up a role as chief executive of two care companies.

Paul Newman will leave Greensleeves Care at the end of February after more than a decade at the charity to join the We Care Group and Summit Care Group as chief executive.

We Care Group and Summit Care Group run care homes in north-west England and Yorkshire.

Newman was previously chief executive of The Benevolent, a welfare and social care charity supporting wine and spirit trade professionals.

He has also been deputy chief executive and chief operating officer at the student support charity International Students House and worked for the Royal Institute of British Architects, the River and Rowing Museum and the York Museums Trust.

“Leading Greensleeves Care has been the greatest privilege of my career to date,” Newman said.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, from an innovative approach to growing the organisation to delivering award-winning, high-quality care for older people.”

Greensleeves Care said in a statement: “During his time at Greensleeves Care, Paul led the organisation through a transformative period of growth and innovation.

“His unwavering commitment to excellence, compassion and positive social impact leaves a lasting legacy on the organisation and those it serves.”
