Environmental charities invited to apply for free advertising space
Charities have been invited to apply for free advertising through an initiative that will promote environmental causes across 17 UK cities.
Ocean Outdoor, which owns outdoor advertising sites including the Piccadilly Lights, has reopened its annual Drops in the Ocean programme, which donates 2 per cent of the company’s annual revenue to environmental charities through advertising across its UK digital screen network.
Charities associated with preserving nature, raising awareness of global warming and climate change are invited to apply.
The programme requires eligible charities to explain their objectives and what being given the free advertising space would mean to them.
Shona Dobson, senior marketing manager at Ocean Outdoor, said: “Drops in the Ocean allows us to address a wide spectrum of important environmental and sustainability problems, many of which will continue to impact all of us in 2025.”
The company first partnered with the Marine Conservation Society in 2018 to create Oceans for Oceans, an initiative to help end the use of single-use plastics.
Ocean Outdoor then launched Drops in the Ocean in 2021 and has awarded £6.5m worth of screen space since its inception.
Some of the chosen beneficiaries include Canal & River Trust, Wildfowl and Wetland Trust and the Blue Marine Foundation.
Charities are invited to submit short pitches with applications by 17 January 2025.
