Omaze draw raised £4.6m for the British Heart Foundation
The British Heart Foundation has received £4.6m from a prize draw run by the company Omaze.
The company had pledged to raise at least £1m for the charity through the draw, for a £4m home in Bath, Somerset.
It takes the total raised for the BHF by Omaze to more than £7.6m over three prize draws.
Paul Knight, a bar manager from Reading, Berkshire, was the winner of the property, which also came with a £250,000 cash prize.
Charmaine Griffiths, chief executive of the British Heart Foundation, said the £4.6m figure was “astonishing”.
She said: “This incredible donation will get us closer to saving more lives from cardiac arrest, keeping more families together for longer.
“A huge heartfelt thank you to the Omaze community and to every single person who entered the draw. The money raised will keep hearts beating in communities across the UK.”
