Grantmaker reveals next director
The grantmaker the Garfield Weston Foundation has appointed Clare Gough as its next director.
Gough will join in May from the arts centre Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery, where she has been its founding director since 2016.
She succeeds Philippa Charles, who left GWF last summer after 16 years to become the first full-time director of the DFN Foundation, which aims to deliver sustainable change in special needs education, employment, healthcare and conservation.
Sir Guy Weston, chairman of the Garfield Weston Foundation, said Gough would bring “an enormous amount of experience in the charitable world”.
Gough said: “I am so excited to join the Garfield Weston Foundation, which has such a significant impact in its support for diverse charitable activities across the UK.
“I have long admired the foundation and its ethos from the point of view of a recipient of its grants, and I am now delighted to join the team in delivering its important work.”
Flora Craig, deputy director at the Garfield Weston Foundation, will continue as interim director until Gough joins.
