Community business charity rebrands

Power to Change has rebranded to reflect its goal of supporting community businesses as “building blocks”.

The charity, which was set up in 2015 with an endowment of £150m to support community businesses, has changed its strapline and logo, and updated its website.

The new logo retains a similar colour palette but introduces a new font and imagery, while the charity has adopted “Backing community business” as its strapline.

Power to Change said its new website better reflected what the charity does, relating to its three thematic areas of focus: taking back the high street, building community power and financing the future economy.

The charity describes itself as a “think-do tank” and says it turns “bold ideas” into action so communities have the power to change what matters to them.

Tim Davies-Pugh, chief executive of Power to Change, said: “In these important areas we are combining ‘thinking’ and ‘doing’, all with the goal of strengthening the hand of community business.

“On the revamped site you can see excellent work and ideas from individuals across our expert team.”

Davies-Pugh said the charity has seen how people create “resilient and prosperous” local economies when power is in community hands.

“We also know the barriers that stand in the way of their success,” he said.

“So, we’re using our experience to bring partners together to do, test and learn what works. We then use this learning to advocate for change.”
